i think most people are not aware rigid tools have a lifetime warranty if they are registered properly after the sale. i was tired of buying dewalt batteries and did some research.
I need a new battery for my Dewalt and was fixing to order a battery($89 each). I'm glad I read this because I might just by the Ridgid for $129 and not worry about buying batteries again.

Hitachi is a quality brand. If I was starting from scratch on a cordless tool system I would choose them.

Many years ago while lying on the wet ground in the freezing rain while changing my umpthienth $25 Autozone "lifetime warranty" starter on my CJ-7 I realized two things.
1) dad was right, you get what you pay for.
2) there is a damn good reason some companies have to offer lifetime warranty on their shitty products.

Does the lifetime warranty cover tools AND batteries? Batteries seem pretty easy to abuse/screw up. If they'll replace batteries, that's awesome.
Edit: Or maybe their batteries are the equivalent of an Autozone starter!

I am pretty sure they limit the batteries to just a few years. I want to say two or three.
From a buddy he said the warranty stipulations were a pita. Had to have all original equipment from purchase to make it to inspection. Like the every piece in the box. Then it goes to inspection where they verify it hasn’t been abosed, which is their out to not honor warranty.
