My 2 blue Lacy dogs went missing from my home yesterday between 3:30 and 4:45 pm. I hate to think they were stolen but the thought is in my head. We live in a neighborhood and no one has seen them and they had ID collars on. They are very social and would come up to anybody but we have received no calls.

That sucks, I have to keep after my son and his buddies to make sure the gates shut when they are running around. Mine got out one night, luckily they were not out long and the smart one came right to me when I called.

good luck

Good luck. I hope they were not taken. Anyone near you got cameras that may have caught something?

Found!! Home safe and sound. We live near LSU and they were picked up by the pound at the Albertson’s on Airline near Highland, 18+ miles from my house about 18 hours after they went missing. Both of their leather collars were missing. No doubt in my mind they had help getting that far away. Very pleasant experience at the pound; we were shocked. Thanks for the well wishes.

Whew glad you found them. I lived at Burbank and bluebonnet years back and had a mountain cur disappear from the back yard under mysterious circumstances.

I hate to think it but are these outdoor dogs that are vocal??

That sounds like a PoS neighbor grabbed them because they were tired of the dogs barking or something and took their collars off and dropped them off far away in hopes they wouldn’t be found....

They are inside and out. They bark when playing together or at something unusual but that thought has also crossed my mind

this.

I almost understand. I don’t know what I would do if I had a neighbor who had dogs that barked all night.

I wouldn’t steal them but if asking the neighbor to shut em up doesn’t work, what do you do?

Go to the authorities and let them handle it.

They are inside from 9:00 pm, let out for a few minutes (never bark at this time) at 4:00 AM when I go to work and put back inside until 6:30 or so. They are inside most of the time if we go somewhere. Also stay on shock collar and get beeped if barking for any length of time. The barking isn’t the issue. Never get out either and neighborhood kids are always at the house playing with them.

30 years ago, a co-worker had this problem. He worked shiftwork, as did I, and his neighbor worked straight day shift. His neighbor's penned up beagles barked at anything and everything they saw during the day which prevented my co-worker from getting any sleep when he worked graveyard shift. Talking to the neighbor didn't help, so my co-worker taped the dogs barking, ran a big speaker outside and turned the volume WAY up loud in the middle of the night while his neighbor was trying to sleep. This made the beagles bark even more and the neighbor was constantly getting out of bed and hollering at his own dogs to shut up. He finally got rid of the dogs.
