Guess I’ve had a bad run. Cree was decent but mine didn’t last long. Would destroy batteries. The cheap wal mart stuff is fine but the beam quality just isn’t on par with some of the higher end stuff. To each his own. OP said around $100. I have him a $25 cheaper option.

I've got 2 headlamps like this. I really like them. They hold a long charge and are very bright. I've used it to track a wounded deer a few hours at night. I'd buy 2 extra batteries and a wall charger so you'll always have an extra set of fully charged batteries. Like mine, this item has accessories to charge the batteries using a USB port, cigarette lighter or a wall charger
