Going the cheap route and doing wheat and crimson clover. We have been spending our money more on summer plots since that’s where the nutritional demands are needed. Our fall plots just need to be green for hunting.

Yeah. I'm holding off. I did grab a bag of buckbusters today and went and did a rapid PH test just to check everything.

Anyone planting this weekend before the rain?

No sir. I’m going to wait until at the very least October 7th and no later than the 3rd week of October. I’m worried about it getting blistered with heat.

Some years we have September’s that’s cooler and usually plant then but lately we’ve been waiting until the 2 week of October to plant and I’ve noticed every year we plant our plots mid October, they produce the better than late September. Those 2 weeks make a difference.

Most of our bow stands are in oak flats where food plots aren’t needed so I don’t worry about spooking the deer if I plant our large rifle plots in October during bow season.
