That is the 1000 - 2000 decoy spreads I was referring to. I truly despise having to pick decoys up any more than once in January. I mean a little shifting in between but bringing them things every day out and home sucks, but that is truly one of the last places you can do that.

The pink spoonbill rosette has been spot on in the marsh the last few years

I used to hunt up there in the 80s and 90s. You're right, about 10-12 doz decoys, the rest various jugs dipped in black paint. I just saw 6 coot decoys for $100 bucks online, I can go buy cheap 2 liter drinks at walmart and pour it down the drain and have 3-4 doz for that and they move in the slightest of wind.

One thought I'll note here is that I don't buy the concept of "leave a landing zone." Bullshite.

If you've ever scouted and watched birds work other live birds without harassment, you can easily see they DGAF about having an open spot to land....they just plop in.

Other than that, I'm focusing on primary species of the area + visibility of the decoy......love pintail & spoon drakes.

I don't agree. When we do a J, they always target the empty spot.
