I have several PSA uppers and am happy with them all. I did switch out charging handles on them for nicer wider ones so my fat fingers can grab it under a scope.

Have an AeroPrecision 16" setup I got for my son to hunt with. Sweet shooter. Since I had the ammo already, picked up a (cheap) Bear Creek Arsenal 8.5" pistol upper just to have around the house. Sighted it in today with a Sig Romeo 5. It's shooting ~1" groups at 50yds, with Barnes tac-tx ammo. Was quite impressed, and the side charging is pretty nifty.
Was fun to shoot, not expensive at all, and pretty accurate at 50yds with a 2MOA red dot.

No real reason to go longer than 12" with a 300 blackout, especially if going suppressed. What you need to pay attention to is twist rate of the barrel. The ballistics of a 300 blackout is pretty much capped at 10 inches. Twist rate will affect your accuracy at ranges more than 6 more inches of barrel will.
