3 vents on a 4.25" was purely for "asthetic reasons"

Colt is all in on the revo's. Really wish they would bring back a series 70 commander. They would sell like hot cakes. They haven't massed produced one since early 90's.

So dumb

ETA: The overwhelming opinions that I’ve seen online is that most people would prefer the traditional 2 vents. I haven’t seen any 4.25” blues pythons in stock… maybe they’ll call an audible based on customer satisfaction??? One can only hope. Either way, I’m getting one.

tradition

i don't hate it, but i don't love it either. i might get the 4.25" since i already have 2 6" ('78 / '21)

Gen 1 ('55-'05) - 4" only (2 vents)

Gen 2 ('20-present) - 4.25" SS (2 vents)

well when there's a brisk wind in the air, you'll be happy you have that third vent!

I received my 2024 6" blued Python. It is beautiful with dark grips. The finish is black and smooth, flawless.

It is not the old Colt Royal Blue that had the blue, mirror finish. But not all original Pythons looked blue either, some looked black like this one. I suspect it depended on the skills of the polisher.

I was a bit disappointed in the trigger pull, 5.9 lbs in single action. I also have a 2020 ss Python and it has a lighter trigger and has been great at the range. However, this new blued Python is worth the price, imo. A really nice, fun revolver with a rich heritage.

Colt has traditionally had 4 types of blued finishes

Royal Blue
National Match blue
Standard
Matte

The python in the pic looks like the matte blue finish.
