An alliance of environmentalists and Calcasieu Parish landowners are publicly celebrating a decision from the De La Express Pipeline not to continue with their Louisiana project. This pipeline was intended to send feedstock materials to industries to manufacture plastics.
The property owners have been arguing that they have not been able to sell, refinance, or develop their land with this uncertainty. The alliance is claiming a major victory over those corporations who have used an overreach of eminent domain for private gain.
