Catahoula Question

I have a 7 month old puppy. He has been limping a few days and not putting weight on a front foot. I brought him to the vet and he said it was shoulder bursitis. Anyone ever heard or dealt with this with their dogs? The vet said it was fairly common in strong and athletic dogs.

Thought this was going to be a duck hunting thread. Good luck to you and your pup

Had a dog once with a shoulder injury. Vet just gave him some meds to speed up the recovery.

Would put him in a kennel for a week and let him rest it up.

My wife's dog had it. He's 50% Catahoula. I'd tied a big piece of rope to a post and he'd pull on it for hours at a time. He started limping and my wife was convinced he was dying. Vet told her to let him rest. I removed the rope from the post and he was fine after a few days.
I now have the rope high enough so that his front legs can't be on the ground when he's yanking on it. Keeps him occupied so I don't have to hear him bark.
