Can anyone tell me how a California compliant revolver is different from...

A standard revolver?

I get how all this applies to semi-autos. But I see revolvers listed at times as California compliant and I'm not sure what this really means as it relates to a revolver.

Does it have to do with the lock mechanism? I know the S&W pre locks are more valuable.

It just means it’s on the California handgun roster. Which makes it legal to sell in California.

But are there mechanical or design differences?
