We had a similar situation with a fellow that lived next to a parcel we wanted to buy. (Didn’t however in the end but he wasn’t the reason). He would show up every time we were out walking the property and almost gave the same story. Used it, couldn’t afford it, but wanted it to stay the same. This loon didn’t want anyone building on it.
He had hiking trails through the property and picnic area down by the little creek that ran through. He really felt like it was some sort of wilderness preserve!
Well anyway we didn’t buy so no harm no foul. So for your situation I would say the best way to approach is to do what a lot of replies have said let him know that things will have to change and you will be very disappointed if he continues to interfere with your business. And with that disappointment comes consequences. Those may vary depending on the infraction. Hopefully he gets the message and all is good. But he can’t say he wasn’t warned.
Good luck.
Yeah man hope it smooths out. I would never approach someone the way he did my wife and I without being provoked. I would also never think of using someone's land without permission even as a kid asking old farmers if I could hunt their land. I just don't understand how that sort of persons mind works other than their loony.
Exhibit A: my x-wife literally no law applied to her during our separation and early on in our divorce. There is an uncanny resemblance in their behavior. Anyway, hope ole boy simmers down.
Like others have confirmed there is no way not to have a conversation with the guy which is unfortunate as I'm a totally different animal. I've been in my current home a long time and welcomed a lot of people to the neighborhood. This guy not so much I guess he prefers to burn bridges before their built. I come from the teaching; a fool judges a matter before he hears it. You know we all grow and there's hope for all of us. I'll hold on to that but certainly be assertive in standing my ground for what's right.
