I am looking to add to my tackle box and wondered if anyone knows of some good deals on bulk bait buys. Wanted to get some of the basics for spinner baits, worms, rattle traps, etc. Years ago Bill Lewis made a color selector box that had 20-25 rattle traps with one color each. I don't get to fish a lot but wanted to at least be stocked up and ready.

That sounds like a giant waste. I've been fishing a long time and can tell you that only a handful of each bait is really necessary. Having rattle traps in 25 different colors is absurd.

Crank bait - white/ black back, Chartreuse/ black back.

Lipless - Mirror/ blue back, delta red (crawfish)

Spinner Bait - White, white/chart, chart, black, green pumpkin

Worms - junebug, watermelon red, black

That's all you need.

That pretty much sums it up. The reason there are so many colors if to catch fisherman, not fish. Just buy what you use (coming from somebody who has wasted a small fortune on stuff that never got used).

I guess a raid on Academy or BP would be in order. I am just looking to get some extra things in basic colors, i.e. white or chart spinner baits, chrome rattle traps, etc. I see now I guess I have answered my own question.

If you listen to the pros they will tell you over and over again that they rarely stray from a few basic colors for any given application. In my experiences I've found this to be true. I used to attribute tough days of fishing to the color bait I was using instead of my own skill level.

They stick to the same confidence colors, but they also modify every bait they use pretty much. Whether it's changing the hooks, adding weights, adding dye to plastics, etc... They aren't fishing with the baits you're buying off the shelf.
