Here are some restaurant links for yall if you're not sure of a good place to eat. I've been to all these places and I recommend them all. I'm kind of partial to southern pit bbq, so there are two or three bbq places you might want to check out. Also, Bristol Speedway is located on Volunteer Parkway, as you know by now. State Street intersects Volunteer Parkway in downtown Bristol. To get there from Abingdon, just take exit three and this becomes Volunteer Parkway. There is a HUGE parking lot on the Virginia side of State Street (the East end of State Street). It's adjacent to the big "Bristol" sign that hangs over State Street and is in front of the WJHL-TV offices. You'll see it. Street parking is available on State Street also unless there's an event like FCRN going on. Here are some restaurant links yall might want to check out:

Brad's BBQ. Good stuff.
LINK

Fish Tales & Pig Tales You won't leave hungry. Varied menu. Good seafood considering you're a long way from the coast. Reasonable priced.
LINK

Machiavelli's Best pizza I've ever had. Varied menu, but is Italian. Delicious appetizers! Just around the corner of State Street. Go to the big Bristol sign over State Street and turn right. Easy to find.
LINK

State Line Bar & Grill This place will be rocking this week! Great place for a cold one and good food. Wonderful place to watch the race on closed circuit TV if you don't have tickets. Reasonable prices, too.
LINK

Memory Lane Cafe This place just opened and is owned and operated by one of my bandmates and his wife. It is located inside of Uncle Sam's there on State Street. It's the counter cafe that used to be in the old F.W. Woolworths store back in the day. Yall remember Woolworths? No website for this store yet, but they are on Facebook. Great food and all the old counter cafe menu items that we enjoyed as kids. Check em out.

Ridgewood BBQ I gave you a link to this place before yall left home. It's worth the drive over there, too. Great BBQ! Here's another and different link to Ridgewood.
LINK

Pratt's BBQ This place is delicious! Order from the menu or help yourself at the buffet. Easy to find, too. Just go down I-81 South from Abingdon. Take ll-W south exit to Kingsport. This will become Stone Drive (4 lane all the way) at the Kingsport City limits. Look for the big Indian on your left right across from the Chevy dealership on Stone Drive. You're there. Just watch out for those redlight traffic cameras I told yall about earlier.

LINK

Hope you have your camera with you? When you first see Bristol Motor Speedway from both the outside and the inside, you are going to be amazed. Trust me, it ain't like anything you've imagined. AND...be sure to buy some comfortable ear plugs before you go. You'll be glad you did.

True story, Ole Geauxt... There is a little community real close to Bristol called "Hickory Tree". Local moonshiner lived there. To get your shine, you had to leave the cash in a little hollowed out spot at the bottom of this hickory tree. At some point in the next 24 hours, the shine would be left in jars behind the tree for you to come and pick up. Never any risk of gettin busted that way. Maybe NF or Socrates can take a little side trip to Hickory Tree for you? Hank Williams, Jr., I believe, has invested in a legitimate moonshine endeavor now which legally markets corn liquor using Popcorn Sutton's recipe. Get NF to get you some if he can't find Hickory Tree...
