If you are running 2 cylce Mercs, try using seafoam instead of Quickleen. Much cheapper in the long run and keeps the plugs looking new.

I run 2 cycle OMC.
Old dude too.
Put seafoam in the boat all year and decarb with it once a year.
Hardly any carbon comes out of the motor when I do the decarb procedure because I keep Seafoam in the tank year round.
Never use any type of stabilizer since Seafoam has stabilizer in it already.

I had some mildly old gas that was in my 4 wheeler and man that thing started running like shite for a while even when mixed new gas with it in tank.

Well i've used all of it and got fresh gas and it ran like a champ again.

Man this thread is making me worry about my fuel Think I might buy some sea foam. My boat sits 2 weeks to a month between uses lately and I know there is E10 in the tank right now. I do have a remote spin on fuel filter though.

Advance Autp parts has a sale on Seafoam right now.
$6.99 a bottle

Usually costs $8.99 a bottle at Walmart and other stores.

To De-carb a 2 stroke I usually get a small 1 gallon gas tank and pour in my pre mix 50:1 oil gas mix and pour in an entire can of Seafoam and make the engine run on that for about 20 minutes.
Let the engine sit for about 1 hour then crank it up on it's normal fuel supply.
Watch the carbon pour out of the Prop hub.
