Was working in the yard today, heard a whining type noise, looked down and saw a black racer clamped down on a frog. Frog was able to escape for a little while, racer chased him down and ate him, was awesome to watch. What was wierd, snake didn't constrict on the frog, just bit it on the head and then worked it down and are it. Normal?

The black racer is a constrictor, but it doesn't coil/wrap around its prey, it will try to suffocate, or crush it, which is what it sounds like the snake the OP described did.
