Trying to replace the recoil spring (believe beretta calls it the action spring).

Got the stock off and I gather I need to use a wrench on the threaded post (Last picture)?

I thought there was going to be a hole to put a nail or screw driver in to prevent the spring from shooting out. Only hole in the tube is close to the receiver and there is a very small gap (middle picture),

Hit up YouTube or at least perform a simple search of the web. I replaced one many, many years ago (prior to the abundance of info on YouTube) and it was a very basic, non-complicated task. I don't recall the specifics but if I could do it, anyone can.

If I remember correctly you have to put two nuts in the end and back it out.

I had watched that one actually and the hole to keep the spring from jumping out looks different and he said he uses jam nuts to take the cap off which I’m not familiar with and haven’t found any other info on that but may be what I need to find as I’m worried about stripping that post.
