Bayside launch Pierre Part/Lake Verret- No wake?

I have launched a few times at Bayside and I have yet to get a confirmation if the run from the bridge/launch to the lake is No wake or not. I have idled it twice, and ran it once after a local told me it was not, and to only slow down by the other boat launch. There is a very old looking no wake zone buoy at the mouth of the lake, but that is it. There are no signs near the launch.
Is there an official no wake zone in this area? I would prefer not to get shot by a local.
thanks.

There is a no-wake zone that extends a certain distance on each side of the drawbridge. I don't recall the distance - but there's a sign on the north side of the bayou that cites the ordinance (pretty sure its a parish ordinance) and (I think) cites the distance).
That said, I usually idle out to the lake (past the last camp). But if a local with a surface drive goes flying by, I'll usually throttle up and follow him.
None of the foregoing is intended to serve as legal advice or as protection against .22LR boolits.
eta: All this changes during flood events. No wake zones cover almost every waterway in that area (Pierre Pass, Magazille, Four Mile, Belle River, Cheramie, Sherman, etc.).

Found the Assumption Parish Ordinance:

Any location where a sign has been erected reading “IDLE-NO WAKE” or “NO WAKE ZONE” or language with the same or similar meaning the maximum speed shall be an “IDLE-NO WAKE SPEED.” The “NO WAKE ZONES,” in addition to other areas that may be posted, are as follows:.
.
.
.
2. Pierre Part Bay – Within 500 ft. of the center of the Pierre Part Bay Bridge in either direction. No wake zone will be in effect beyond the 500 ft. when the water level reaches 3.5 above mean sea level. In addition, no recreational towing (skiing, hydrosliding, inner tubing, etc.) allowed in the Bay at all times.

4. Belle River – Within 1000 ft. of the center of the Belle River (La. Hwy 70) Bridge in each direction at all times. Unrestricted access beyond the 1000 ft

Thanks for the reply, I have been looking for that info for a while now.
I have been doing the same, waiting for someone to pass me up before heading out.

This depends on if you are a local or not.

This 3.5 mean sea level. Where is this gauge located?
