I am taking my little one out fishing this weekend, we have been hitting different spots every weekend. a buddy told me you can pay 5 bucks or so and go fishing the bank by the myrtle grove marina. I have launched at the marina and see people fishing by the marina many times. Is that where you are allowed to fish when you pay or do they let you drive down the gravel road and fish further down?

thanks

I dunno if you want to make the drive but they are doing pretty good on the side of the road in Venice..

Typically the colder it is the better the fishing is in myrtle grove.

Drive down Hwy 23 about 10-15 minutes past the marina until you see Grand Bayou Rd on the right. Its gravel road that goes over the levee. Once you go over the levee, the gravel road goes for about a mile with a canal on the right and marsh all down the left side. Just find a spot and park on side of road and fish. Free to fish.

Check the tide and wind before you go because if you go at low tide when a N or W wind is blowing, there won't be much water in the marsh. Rubber boots not necessary, but would bring them if you already have a pair.
