Kayak there many times and various places. A great spot is off the east atch protection levee. Get off at the ramah exit. Make a left onto levee. Keep driving and there are several spots at 3mile, 4mile, and 7.8 miles to go down on the righthand side and launch. The farthest one has a little cut you meander through then it opens up to a larger body of water with cypress all around. The middle one has a little pass that you paddle around the island. My favorite is when the wate is high you can find spots with cypress spaced 15-20' apart and kayak the flooded forest.

I am yet to figure out why the "so called" bass fisherman in South La...are in love with those brands of boats...
