Never heard of one I knew personally. But some breeds can't handle cold weather. A friend has German short pointer was duck hunting in 40 degrees and the dog passed out or almost did. I'm not sure if that's typical for the breed or if it had another issue at the time.

Tell me, has anyone heard of a dog dying from being too cold?
Maybe one of those "I know a guy who knows a guy" type of stories, but that's it. The heat is a lot harder on dogs than the cold will be, I think the OP's dog will be fine.
