I have 2 different AR-12 Shotguns and have the same problem with both. I can’t get the shells to eject and load the next one in the magazine. They both take 5 round mags. I’ve used various 2.75 shells. From bird shot to buck shot. The shell will get stuck half way out when ejecting. I have to wedge it out by hand and then charge it to get next round in. One is a Panzer Arms and one is a Charles Daly.
Do I have to use 3” shells with these? Any help would be appreciated.

How much have they been shot? May just be a situation where they need a little more breaking in.

When I first got my Browning Gold Hunter, I had a lot of shell hangups like you describe. You need to shoot a few boxes of high brass shells through to get it broken in.

I have learned that the AR platform, when you get away from the tried-and-true designs used by the military, are not exactly what I'd call reliable.

Yes, in the right configuration, the rifle is easily one of the best light arm ever invented. But the further you deviate from the original design or a modern enhanced design, the harder it is to run perfectly every time.

AR10s are finicky enough. I can't imagine how bad shotguns are in that platform.

Those two platforms look very much like the Rock Island Armory's VR60 and VR80 platforms. The Rock Island version is made in Turkey, and they cost about the same. Your two may be rebranded versions of the same shotgun from Turkey, I don't know, just a guess. Anyway, I have a VR60 and came across the issue you are having before I ever fired mine. Doing some research I found this guy on YouTube who explains the problem, and how to fix it. It was very simple. I can shoot any brand of shell through my VR60 and have no stove pipe issues. Maybe this will help you.

a few potential issues:
it is junk. i have no clue because I am not familiar with this gun.

some shotguns need to be broken in. springs need to be loosened up. may take 100 rounds to accomplish this. guy from a local sporting good shop brought the (at the time) new Browning A5 to show off in a skeet shooting fund raiser. he had this problem because it was fresh out of the box. i offered him $100 for it at the end of the shoot. he told me to f off. HAHA!!

i have owned shotguns that have a weight in the stock. you must take it out to shoot low brass. must be in for high brass.

if this is of no help....my apologies.

Are they? I’ve only got experience with mine, which is a palmetto state in 308. Never a single jam no matter how cheap the ammo, even Tula, and I’m not good about cleaning my guns either.

A friend of mine has one and he had the same issue. Turns out his gun only works with high brass shells. He swapped and hasn't had a problem since.
