I assume Vessel View will pick up my current hours and not start hours from zero.

I ran boat for approximately 2 hours already so when I plug in it’ll read 2 hours not 0 right.

BTW, I hated break in. A P2 is a rocket in the first place, and mine was mostly empty. I could not get anywhere near WOT without being terrified.

Looking back on it, I would have made sure all my tanks were full(I was just using the ten gallon small tank at first) and would have filled the live wells.

1st hour all four of us were in the boat (wife and 2 kids and a lap dog)

2nd hour (which was next morning) just me and my oldest went out and kept motor trimmed down whole time. I never touched driver seat that hour.

Classic is slower than the P2 and I’m good with that. We wanted the front deck space on the classic.

I wish I had that front deck. It's not just the width either. There are other characteristics more in line with the premium boats. The P2 and Sabre have the worst front ends of the entire line. For example, the buoy well on the P2 does not have a straight edge, so certain accessories will not work there. Also, there's almost nowhere to put a non-slip pad, so exiting the boat when I fish alone is tricky.

Both are gorgeous boats and can’t go wrong with a Cat.

Hopefully tomorrow evening I’ll see how she fishes!

Anyone have trouble with their mobile vessel view staying connected to their IPhone? Mine connects for a bit then disconnects. Distance from motor to my phone is maybe 6’.

Two possibilities I have seen. First, iOS:

Emailed Mercury and got this reply in about an hour.
Thank you for your feedback regarding VesselView Mobile. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns.

Sometimes when iOS devices go through updates the information stored for our application becomes corrupt on one of the devices associated with our module. We can usually resolve this be doing the following:

1.Download a free app called LightBlue (icon is a fist)
2.Make sure the key is on in the boat and open the the LightBlue app. This app will scan for Bluetooth devices in the vicinity.
3.You will likely see a listing in there called 0000000000000. This is the VVM module. Tap on it.
4.LightBlue will not interrogate this listing and discover that is actually VesselView Mobile. Once it shows connected (Bluetooth light on your module will show solid as well) you can back out of the connection screen by tapping the upper left corner of the page.
5.Now your home screen in LightBlue should show VesselView Mobile as a device nearby. At this point you can close the app and go back into VesselView Mobile and get a connection.

Second, module placement:

I connected my new Mercury Vessel View Mobile Unit last week, without issue. The unit started up fine and connected easily. However on my maiden voyage on the new boat, the unit would disconnect, and never connect again... :-\ :-\ That issue never left my mind.

Today I re-checked my connections, and the unit synced up to my phone with 0 issues... hmmmm... but,,, as soon as I turned the outboard on, it would knock the unit offline.

I reevaluated where I mounted the unit, I placed the unit over the plastic cover situated in front of the spark plugs. I'm thinking when the outboard turns on, the spark plugs must be causing an electrical interference of some sort to the this bluetooth operated unit.

I decided to dismount the Mercury Vessel mobile view unit and re-mount the unit towards the front of the engine, away from spark plugs and obvious heat sources. Re-checking my connections, I turned the key, outboard came to life, and voila the unit connected and stayed online registering the idle rpm's.

Thanks, it may be a mounting location thing for me. It’s mounted towards black of motor and does seem to connect quicker when phone is on back deck of boat.
