Mallard= French duck= canard francais
Gadwall= gray duck= canard gris
Scaup= dogris
Merganser= becksee
Spoonbill= mequin
Ruddy duck= GOD DAMN!!!!
Coot= pouledeau

Gun sock/ sleeve= fudo
Shell bucket= beedon

3 hunts in the books at our blind and it's been basically 90/10 teal/spoons. Have not seen any other species close enough to shoot. There were more ducks in the air this morning though.

The sprigs and mallards are around the problem is not having 4 other blinds calling at them and sky busting while working them. Luckily birds are here regardless. The teal are like what teal season used to be like.

Catahoula lake seems to be on fire for opening split. Everyone I talked to had good bags.

My brother said it’s more ducks than he’s seen in last 10 yrs.
