West side of the lake across from Hebert's/Old Settlement and south of Turner's Bay. It is a cut from the channel into the lake for quick access of crew boats of all sizes to the various well heads and platforms. Unless you've got a yacht, you can get in and fish it. But it can get annoying quick with a lot of boat traffic.

Yes it connects the ship channel to Big Lake. Its NE of spot where Kelso Bayou hits the ship channel.

Leave launch and go south down ship channel. Pass Turners on left and LNG plant on right and it will be 1st cut on left. If you get to the 1st camp on right past LNG plant you went just too far. That camp sits on intersection of ship channel and Kelso Bayou. Texaco Cut is prob 10-15 min from Calcasieu Point.

Between turners and 9 mile, it's the only cut between the lake and the ship channel. Can't miss it.

I knew exactly where it was. Hit shallow water . Had to get out of the boat and cut it off. Caught about 10 pounds of extra large shrimp. 17 trout 4 reds 5 flounder ad other assorted fish.
