Anyone have a Makarov 9x18 semi-auto pistol?

Soviet designed cold-war era gun. All metal. Can be bought fairly cheaply.

I have one - I need a new recoil spring. This was a mass produced, Big Bear import made in the old USSR - the fit and finish was pretty good, overall, but the recoil spring always got hung up on field stripping and cleaning, so, I ended up stretching it out finally. Wolf makes some after market springs, but when I go looking, I can never find them in stock.
But, great shooting little pistol - essentially a Soviet rip off of the Walther PPK.

Well at least it used to. My brother has one that he bought around 15 years ago and they were all over the place. I looked last year and they were pretty hard to come by.

I had the 9x18....sold it and bought the .380 version.
Great little guns and I love the fact that it is double action. Safety is a de-cocker as well. Not a bad shooting gun either as far as accuracy.

I've got one that is stamped "Ernst Thaelmann Germany". It was supposed to have been a police sidearm back when East Germany was a communist state, how true this is you decide. Decent piece and fairly accurate.
Be careful because some are Chinese and I've heard those are not near the gun as others.

I still has the want...just never found one that i thought was reasonable.
