About 5 years ago a couple of my neighbors and I went out and cut a trailer load of bamboo and just stuck the cut pieces down in to the bottom right off the bank.
Every spring these beds produce sacs. I helped one of the guys put his down in about 12 ft of water off his dock. Fishing is good there in the winter also.
5 years and the bamboo is still there, producing.
Cheap but hard work. Don't get hung up much in bamboo. Strip the leaves off.

Great info guys. I've never been much of a sac/crappie chaser but I ain't mad at bass anymore so looking for a new challenge.
I wanted to cut long bamboo and sink in about 20ft in hopes of holding fish year round. Is this a good approach or do I need to make both shallow and deeper water beds?
