I just don't understand why anyone would choose a revolver for everyday carry.

You are handicapping yourself.

I agree. I have a S&W 642 that I used to carry in an ankle holster when I either couldn't carry IWB or just as an extra gun. Now that I have a Glock 43 it pretty much stays in the vault. The extra capacity of modern sub compact semi-autos makes them a much better weapon to carry in my opinion.

If you're dead set on a revolver, the 642 is a nice gun.

Thank y'all for the input, good stuff in here.

I don't really have reasoning, just need an excuse for a new gun, will check out a few mentioned

S&W 642 (silver) or 442 (black). Cylinder is not too wide because it only holds 5. Aluminum frame so its not too heavy. Its a good cc choice because its never going to jam.
No offense, but you apparently don't believe in Murphy's Laws.

ANY gun (and anything else that's mechanical) can jam -- and if it does, it will likely do so at the worst possible moment.

Carried a 442 for 8 years in plain clothes. Qualified in high 90s% every year. Carried a s&w model 19 every day when in uniform(back when troopers were troopers as I tell the young pups)! Currently keep the 442 in truck and carry a LCP.380. Anything is better than my fist. Like my Glock .40 Also. Hell, I like em all.
