I've got a golf cart project currently with a 13hp honda motor on it. I don't have a whole lot of faith in this project and was thinking of creating a mud motor out of the motor. Anybody ever done this?

Fabricating all the parts yourself would be a pretty significant project, but I’m sure it could be done. More than a few company’s selling kits now that you drop your own motor in. Mud skipper is one off the top of my head but I’m sure there are others.

Done it. It's a bitch. Wouldn't do it again

I'd either do that, or find a go devil that needed an engine, and just swap that over

yep, back in the early days, we had to build them our self if we wanted a go-devil. It was a hell of a damn project.

I met a guy offshore that built one. Not a go-devil. An actual mud boat where you sit above the engine and drive with the throttle stick. The shaft goes through the hull. He told me it wasn't expensive. Just took a little while to get it right. He had video of his son driving it. Kid wasn't older than 6.

It looked like a cool project.
