Almost set on an F-150

Any reason I shouldn't? I really like the Ecoboost solely for the mileage (screw the environment).
I've found some good deals on new 2011s. Would you buy a truck that's been at the dealership that long?
How much will they come off the sticker on a '12?
Any advice is welcome but I can't justify a 4X4.

But back the the ford issue, get it, they are awesome trucks!

Can't think of any reason not to buy Ford

Don't get me wrong, I'd love a 4X4, but my boat is literally small enough to push around the yard and I don't really hunt much besides duck. So for me a 4X4 is a little excess.

I will never buy another 2 wheel drive truck as long as I live. I drive 50k miles a year in a truck now. The one time you need 4wd, you won't have it, if you don't get it.
4wd trucks now have better suspension systems and ride better than most 2wd trucks out there. Keep in mind that the tires make all the difference in the world. You won't need aggressive tires, just street tires for highway travel.

I will never have another 2 wheel drive, the one time you need 4x4 and have it pays for itself IMO

If I promise to consider a 4wd will you give your opinion on buying an '11 that's been on the lot?

I've been driving nothing but pick up trucks since 1988, and cannot think of a single time I needed 4X4. Not everyone uses a truck for the same purposes as the next guy, and 4X4 is just not necessary for everyone. I have pulled boats, landscape trailers, a camper all over the friggin USA...and back, all without 4X4. People told me the same thing when I got the truck I have now...that I would regret not getting 4X4. Had it for 150,000+ miles and still haven't needed it.

You must keep it on the pavement more than me, I need it once a month. When I go to the ranch in Texas and its slightly wet my truck stays in 4x4 the whole time.

quote:Sure you will. You won't always drive 50K miles and you eventually will NEVER "need" a 4WD. Trust me.

You don't understand my convictions. My grandpa always told me, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." I has the last 2 WD I will ever own sitting in my driveway. It's paid for and will be graded in by the end of this year. It is also a Chevrolet. Not I only will I not ever own a 2wd again, I will never own a Chevrolet again either.

Yeah, I once felt the same way. As we get older our driving habits change though; hence, "trust me."
It's hard to imagine how the way we view things changes as we age. It's impossible to know how we'll look at things when we're, say, 60.

I'm upgrading from a sportscar so if I get a 4wd I feel like I should get a cowboy hat or start dipping or something
But seriously, these are the things I won't go home without:
1. Ecoboost
2. Navigation
3. Leather seats
anything I'm missing, besides 4wd?

Maybe even a gun rack to hang some panties on.

Go with the '11, if you can find those options.
Posted on 5/15/12 at 8:47 pm to Big Data
I bought an '11 in December. They did just about everything except a happy ending to get rid of it.

I don't think $10,000+ off sticker is unreasonable. Search cars.com and make the search area 250 or 500 miles. Then pick the exact truck you want. I found the 4x4 King Ranch I want in Terrell, Texas for $11,000 off sticker and it's a '12.
