What should I be looking at for the price per linear foot with cap and trim moulding? TIA

He gave me a 32$ per linear foot bid from a family friend. I'm getting other bids obviously but I just thought this was really high. I was looking to spend between 3-4K on the fence and the bid came to almost 7k with the gates.

Ouch, are there any gates? Lots of turns/corners? Tear out of an old fence or debris/ landscape removal necessary? In level ground? All these could raise the price.

None of that it's a simple square fence that is 190 feet. It'snew construction on flat ground. (2) 4 foot gates and (1)12 foot gate. The gates wern't included in the linear price per square foot. Those were quoted separately.

We were looking into vinyl fencing and the bid I got on that was 8k. So we decided to do a pine fence since it would be about half the price of the vinyl. I then got this bid and when I opened it I was shocked.

Wait till spring if you can. Normally the price for the board per and 8’ 4x4 will be on sale at the big lumber outlets. As well as treated 2x4’s in 8’. Just saying.

Can't really wait my home is finishing up in the next 3 weeks and I need a fence for my two dogs. I'm ok paying a few hundred dollars more stuff due to not being able to wait for materials to go on sale but I'm not paying someone 3k more than I should due to a high quote.

Sounds to me like you need to get bids from a few more folks before you settle on who will do this.
