Its a fairly obsolete round now, and planning for the future at some point will have to get into reloads which I do not like. About 10 years ago the second reload round through the barrel of a 12 gauge split the barrel about 16 inches worth.

But what would be a sufficient number of 300 savage empty brass shells to interest a reloader who does it as a business???? I assume they would only work with brass, right???

Rifle reloading is much different from shotgun reloading. If you pay attention to detail and do not exceed EXACTLY what the manual says regarding powder charge and bullet seating depth you will not get in trouble.

I would start by getting a minimum of 50 cases but better 100 cases before starting.

I think I have seen an ad from Midway that has 300 Savage ammo on sale right now so you may want to check there and stock up if they still have any

Midway does in fact have some in Stock. Remington 150 gr at $40/box. Suggest you order 5+ boxes while you can get it

You really can't double charge a rifle load. For a rifle load to be effective the case needs to be pretty full. Low powder fill will actually build pressure to unsafe levels.
