actually, there sort of was a 96 YJ. i just like to draw attention to myself and my extensive Jeep history knowledge whenever possible
they stopped production of the YJ in 1995, but allowed some dealerships to sell models made in late 95 as 96s. TJs didnt come around until 1997. technically there was no 1996 model of the Wrangler.

Yeah. I guess I could have literally looked at the dates on the poster over my desk

I have a 2015 Unlimited Rubicon with 150k; we put 100k miles on it.
As bought with 3.5 "AEV lift, 35s, auto, and other stuff.
I would have it checked by an independent shop that knows Jeeps or 4x4s.
Price seems reasonable depending on condition.
Oil filter housing is an oil leak waiting to happen. I have also had to replace a fuel injector. Valve cover gaskets as well.
And the touch screen on the radio is doing bad.
My 3rd jeep (80 CJ7, 2000 TJ) and probably the largest money pit of the 3. They just get more complex and costly to repair if/when something breaks.

Nope - it's gray and in the Florida panhandle :-)

Good info here. My old yukon is getting up there. I'm a ballin on a budget single dad, starting to look- have it narrowed down to a 2014-17 diesel grand cherokee, a 2012-15 Wrangler unlimited, or a 2016-17 Yukon XL denali in the next few months. Only concern with the jeep is I'd miss my 3rd row and towing.

If you plan on towing anything approaching 3500lb which is the max depending on specific model/trans/gearing, you will want something other than a Wrangler....

Jks are huge pieces of shite. Don't buy it unless you wants something to just drive on the weekends and you don't care about paying $3k repairs on the reg. The only way to own Jeeps is to trade them before the warranty is out.

I think my Xpress 18' is under 2k total. And my old MB 200 ski boat is probably shy of 3k on a newer aluminum trailer. So should be good there.
Had a 2012 several. Years ago when married, but also had a lifted Suburban that did all the towing. Don't remember if I ever towed anything with the jeep back then.

I have a 14 6spd 4 door on 35s with 4.56s and 107,000 on it. Been a fun jeep with no issues. I’m about to put it on the market though and get another toy for now.
