F a bunch of covering the sides, just get the top and lids...

the stuff looks like it would do the job but when i take the carpet out it all comes out so i need something to put back over the areas not covered by the turf since the metal will not be finished and im sure would need some paint so i might as well paint the entire floor with nonskid

hydroturf is the best. I have done carpet in our express and I swore id never do it again. Since like half a million people have used hyroturf I would like to see how you will use it differently

The boat is fiberglass, correct? Where is the metal coming from?

.

im not using it differently, i just havent seen anyone "wrap" the entire interior. only application i have seen is laying it on the "walkable" floor area. look at the picture i posted of the boat, now remove all the carpet (wich is in the entire interior)and add this stuff. please show me a picture of it done like that - im not saying it hasnt been but id like to see how to replace ALL carpet with this stuff , not just the floor

You have a metal floor and deck lids? I am not trying to be a smart arse, I am just not familiar with Express Fiberglass boats. My Stratos is all fiberglass except for the hinges of course. If I ever have to replace the carpet in mine, it will be with hydroturf like I have in my hunting boat.

my xpress is aluminum hull not a fibeglass. I was told by an xpress dealer today that under the capet is alum also. I have only had the boat a week so i havent looked for myself but i'd be willing to bet that it is metal also under the carpet

LOL, thanks! I thought the boat in the pic was fiberglass... Hell, I would still paint the inside after pulling carpet and glue then put down hydroturf.

that is a option but ill have to find a paint that will last so the exposed parts dont look like crap after a year or two,

Well then i have another question for you. Did you ever have to do any touch up painting? All the areas shown in the pic i posted have a pretty good amount of chips, i am trying to find out if the original paint is a 1 or 2 part epoxy or a poly. All i can get from express is that it was heat treated and that they dont have any of the paint codes from that year

I'm looking to do mine. How did you handle the riveted handles for boxes?

Drill them out then pop-rivet after putting carpet?
