One other thing about the Ruger that most 1911 traditionalists like is that it is a 70 Series
Well, I was mistaken, I thought the Ruger had the firing pin safety as the series 80. I stand corrected.

He's selling you the gun for retail? Your uncle? You mean wholesale?

All the cash has gone to purchase lumber for the treehouse I'm building for the boys...Swiss Family Robinson can kiss my arse. This treehouse will be able to withstand hurricanes.

Yeah I meant wholesale
To the other poster...these are the only two they have in stock. They live in a town of 2000> and do most of their business customizing guns for professional shooters and what not. I originally wanted a Ruger but if I'm not sure if I can swing one from them right now or anytime soon. Might not be the smartest thing to do but I'm pretty dead set on getting one while I'm here seeing as I live in Florida.

You are paying for the name Colt in that Milspec
Go with the Remington
Or, if there is one available, get a Springfield a-1 Loaded
You could likely get it cheaper than both and it is a badass gun with bells and whistles like the Remington there, but with just as many steel parts as the Colt there. Not a lot of MIM parts
