Thats truly the dumbest thing I will hear this year possibly.

I suppose you think Noah Lyles is more poplar than Tom Brady in America as well

You're trying to compare a country with 330 million people to a country with 10 million people.

Read it and weep, dumb arse.

Oh, you’re talking about most recognizable.

That explains why you’re so confused.

And in that country of 10 million mondo is not remotely close to the most followed Swedish athlete on social media. Not in the same universe of many others

An article showing how awesome mondo was in 2023 from red bull. I agree. Mondo is awesome. He is elite

Doesn’t make him more popular than Swedish athletes in soccer or hockey or other mainstream sports

They aren’t a small poor Caribbean country that has nothing besides Olympic events.

Mond is as popular in Sweden as Americans who dominate pure Olympic events are. They get publicity and admiration every 4 years then fall back behind the global sports stars

Let me guess. You're going to compare him to a Premier League soccer player that has more fans from other countries?

Of Zlatans 60 million followers, do you think at least 615k are Swedish

Looks like you’re still a little confused. Everyone in this thread is talking about right now. Not four years ago or four years from now.

Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Cuba all have larger populations than Sweden.

:rotflmao:

The Jerring award is for the best performance of the year. For fricks sake. Do you really look at this and say “this is the listing of swedens MOST POPULAR ATHLETES”

A fricking horse team is in there for gods sake

quote:

The Jerring Award (Swedish: Jerringpriset or "Radiosportens Jerringpris") is a prize established by Radiosporten (the sport section of Sveriges Radio) and voted by its radio audience who choose the best performing Swedish athlete or team of the year.

His Wiki page says it goes to the most popular, and besides that was 4 years ago. Your post said right now.

His wiki page is edited by people like you and me

Directly from the Jerring award site :

quote:

The Jerring Prize or Radiosporten's Jerring Prize is a prize instituted by the sports editorial staff of Swedish Radio. The prize is named after the Swedish radio pioneer Sven Jerring, famous among other things for his sports broadcasts, and is awarded to a successful Swedish athlete for the best Swedish sports performance of the year. The award is also known as the "people's prize", as it is radio listeners who vote for the athlete or sports team that has made the "best sports performance" of the year.

quote:

He has surpassed Zlatan as the country's most famous athlete.

Oh look. Here's another article where it says he was Sweden's athlete of the year for 3 years in a row in a country with 10 million people with very few superstar athletes. Lets do the dumbest thing possible and compare him to Noah Lyles.

Only claim I have made here is that he’s the most popular right now in Sweden. Which is obviously true for anyone with an ounce of common sense lol

Let me tell you again how stupid you are. This would be the equivalent of a state with a population the size of Michigan with Michael Phelps in his prime.

And you're over here saying that would be dumbest thing you have ever heard.

Mondo is only 26 medals shy of Phelps for 1

And

Phelps is nowhere near the most famous athlete in Michigan either. Nor was he ever

So thanks for making my point

Imagine saying this

“That’s it. Phelps has surpassed Magic as Michigan’s most famous athlete”

Would that be the most buttfricking dumb thing you heard? Yes it would

That feeling as you fall to the mat after clearing the pole and setting the record having already won the gold must be epic.
