I hear ya regarding business in La., but the whole problem is that BP wants to do what is best for BP, and not what is best for those affected by this disaster. That attitude is exactly what got them into this mess, and a complete change of corporate attitude may be the only thing that gets them out of it.

This is a pipedream, I realize that, but every now and then people suprise you and do the right thing.

This may be a shock to some but a lot of businesses detest doing business in Louisiana

And some of the work that has been done by our state legislature to make Louisiana more business friendly is in the midst of being undone by Senator Marrionneaux and his plantiff attorney buddies grandstanding on the BP event and trying to change our laws back to enable them and their ilk to make bank off of all our businesses.

Well, no shite. BP is responsible to their investors through the board, not to residents of Louisiana.

That said, BP has to keep LA legislators happy in order to continue to do business. But it still isn't the same thing as keeping the general public happy.

And if you were doing business in California you probably wouldn't care all that much about the average Californian either.

As a show of good faith to the people of Louisiana, BP should move it's US corporate offices to either Laffy or NOLA, whichever is best for them. It would demonstrate that the company is in it with us for the long haul.
