Looking for updates

I have a mother in ICU who's nurse will be taking her family there next week. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Tiger Fans

I live in Navarre. The Pensacola news last night said that Gulf Shores Beaches were closed yesterday, but Orange Beach was open. The oil looks to be headed more east. The beaches are getting cleaned quickly. The reporter said that the area was hoping to be open this weekend.

How is Navarre? We were there a couple of weeks ago and REALLY enjoyed the quiet aspect of it ... minus the seaweed. Nasty.

Navarre is beautiful. I think a few tarballs were spotted a week ago, but that's it. The oil seems to be skirting us and is headed to the east mostly staying offshore.

The beaches in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are open and have always been open. You can sit, walk, build sand castles, etc. The water is currently closed to swimmers in OB (double red flags) and swimming is allowed in GS (yellow flags) but under a swimming advisory. There is currently no complaints of oil washing ashore on any of the beaches. There are some scattered tar balls coming in, and no one is complaining of the smell right now. The cleanup operations have been refined and seem to be working very well. If/when anything washes on the beach, it is cleaned up very quickly.

Just arrived in gulf shores today for the upcoming week in sea chase..staying near the floida/ala border..the water is closed with red flags but did see people swimming in the water where there wasnt any oil present and the workers didnt seem to mind..area near orange beach peer is covered with oil..boats and workers were constantly working all day with trackers trying to clear the oil of of the sand and water..you can see how the oil has turned the sand orange/brown on the shore.

WOW !! That camera from the Pink Pony is depressing It's good to see some folks out moving around, but that's about 5% of the crowd that would normally be there this time of year

My heart goes out to all the folks down there that are facing an economic disaster because of this

Yeah sorry! Just left today..the beach was pretty bad..double red flags should have been flying the whole week in front of my condo but they werent..they told us we couldnt get in because they put some chemical in the water?

the sand along the shore was straight up brown

the only area i saw with yellow flags was just past florabama

We only got to get into the ocean once during the whole trip at the beginning of the week and we had to walk down the beach about half a mile to do so
