Are these formed due to the dispersants ? or would we expect them regardless ?

I don't know but my sister has been in Gulf Shores all week and said everything has been fine and everyone has been in the water up and down the beach. She walked out of the gulf today and all her friends were lauging at her. She had a tarball stuck to her chin!
That's all I know about them.

While that is really not funny....I laughed.

It is a sad situation down there, but I laughed my arse off at her as well. You would have to know her too, that makes it even more funny. I will be in Orange Beach on Sunday to see them for myself.

Tar balls have been coming in for decades due to natural seepage. It is the asphaltine that does not break down. Yes it would be expected.
