Anyone heard of these guys? A girl came to my door just now asking me to donate money and become a member. She said that their purpose is to act as a watchdog over BP since BP is handling the cleanup, and they expect BP to cut corners. Anyone heard of them.

Yes, I have heard of them. They have been around for years and were very involved in helping keep the damaging open loop LNG terminals away from the Louisiana coast.

So you believe they're legit? I want to help however I can with this spill, but I don't want to be hornswaggled.

They are legit and well established. They wouldn't be stealing your money imo.
Just know that they support a lot of causes all along the gulf coast and some you may support and some you may not. If they say your money is going to the spill then I don't see anything wrong with that.

Waste of money. I was a member and tried to raise attention to the oil that was left behind from the river spill two years ago and they did nothing. Just another smoke and mirrors group out to make a buck.
