Not being an arse but you are not smelling oil, at least not BP oil. Im about 35 miles from the spill and we haven't smelled anything. Today was the first time we have seen oil in 3 days and it was only a light sheen.

Never said I smelled oil homeboy. I went to Gulf Shores last week and everything was beautiful.

I've been at gulf shores plantation all week.

No oil has come on shores here or at the beach club as of now.

YES, there have been times today you could smell the oil. It isn't constant, and isn't over bearing but you can definitely smell it.

They have been lining up boom on the bay side of 180 right near the plantation, but I haven't seen any being placed yet.

Im not saying that you are not smelling something im just saying that you are not smelling the oil from the leak. If im 35 miles away from the spill and can not smell it how are you smelling it from over 100 miles away? If you have a nose that good I suggest you put it to work. The DEA would love to have your employment.

Are you 35 miles north of the spill? East of it? West of it or due north of it?

The wind was blowing out of the south both times we smelled it and the odor has been widely reported along with ft. morgan/gulf shores/orange beach area.

Also, where are you getting the info that the oil is over 100 miles away from the Ft. Morgan beaches? The NOAA has been reporting inside of 100 miles for quite some time now.

Beginning this morning, we have seen scattered oil impact across the island, ranging from tarballs to patches of oil and reports of odor

I mean from the actually spill site where the rig sank, we are NE of it, the winds are always changing out here. Yes there oil on the water and that will be hitting the beaches in FL but dont expect black beaches like the pics from the Valdez. Flew a 15 mile radius two days ago and saw enough oil to fill up a swimming pool. Dont get to over excited from the media, not saying you are but just putting that out there.
