I guess since they are dead you can call them "morons". I happen to have worked with the drillers brother that got killed and if he was anything like his brother he was far from a "moron"!
Sure they did contribute to the blow out and maybe they could have did more to prevent it but don't group all of them together and call these dead souls "morons".

Well said. I'm sure some mistakes were made but then again people are human so mistakes happen. That is the reason for having the BOP. People always look for some person to blame, but sometimes shite just happens.
I think the industry will definitely take a step back and learn from this and the industry will definitely be safer bc of it.
