I am in Destin right now. I just had dinner with a friend who works for the owner of a very successfull property management company here in Destin. They have had so many cancellations so for, including lack of reservations all together that they have laid off 6 reservationists, haulted a construction on projects, and spending on upgrades and repairs at a variety of properties.

Even though the oil has not his the panhandle beaches the effects are already being felt.

Sad Situation

Well it is very apparent douchebag you'd rather fund terrorism by our dependency on foreign oil. You must be one mega liberal. and you can go frick yourself pal.

Oh and the reference to 911 was a general point of terrorism and what it can do to our nation, on our soil. If you don't think for one second that oil money helps fund terrorism, you are as stupid as you seem.

i did not disagree with this premise. take it to the poli board.

my point was, and is: my parents, who are on okaloosa island, have PHYSICAL EVIDENCE of oil leeching over into the florida pan-handle; whereas you, sitting in front of a computer (presumably in mandeville) responded to my post with a well-rationalized "FAIL."

do you get your news from the back of a box of co-co puffs or your magic 8 ball?

I own property on Holiday Isle. So I know what I am talking about. Yes I am sitting in Mandeville but probably are a little more informed than you are right now about the Destin area and oil. Is it possible, yes, but it isn't happening yet. I am losing money just like other are due to perception.

I'm sitting on the beach in destin right now. Its pretty windy and the waves are a little choppy. But the water is clear, and the air is fine.

No sign of any oil or anything at all. Except all the beautiful babies putting on that suntan oil.

Damn I'll be headinng to Destin / Crab Island for July 4th. Right now I'm just hoping for a miracle that the oil will just float somewhere other than Walton County.
