I once got a 38 on a final. My teacher fricked up and recorded it as an 83 in his grade book and I passed the class

Mid level Econ class. Completely slipped my mind during a week long party binge (don't judge; its called college) that I had a mid-term the next day. This mid term was notorious for being known as the end all be all of this class (all short answer/essay) - Failing it would've cost me the class. Immediately emailed the teacher that I had come down with an illness & would not make the exam. He said it was fine (frick yeah!) & asked me to see him in his office the Monday of the following week (frick no!). I immediately go into my doctor's office the next morning, go through the motions & get a doctor's slip on the way out. Show up Monday morning to the professor's office with slip in hand. Guy pretty much tells me "I don't need the slip, I don't care what happened. Forget about the mid-term, your final will just count as double". Get out of taking his hardest exam out of all of his classes, and get a 97 on his relatively easy final. A huge win for me.

I had no good experiences, one semester my computer science professor died between the last class and the day of the final, he had been curving our grades all semester, the department head gave the final and graded it on the standard scale, my C would have probably been an A had the prof lived, a lot of people failed the class that would have likely pulled a C, we protested but no luck.
