WWOTTD: Bestbuy notification for order you didn't make

I got an email notification to my alumni account that I just ordered a mac book pro. My alumni email account is also my best buy login.
Order was to be shipped to my name but a wring address in NJ. The last 4 of credit card was not one I recognized.
I called bestbuy and they canceled order, and then I had them delete my account.
I also ran credit report to look for odd cards.
Alumni.lsu.edu is too odd to accidently log into. I assumed it was an in store order and they select wrong account, but best buy said online order.
I feel like I over responded

In today's day and age? Nope. For all you know, they opened some accounts in your name and are making purchases to create some sort of credit history. Then they can use that credit history as documentation to get even more credit.

Can you lock your credit?

Yes. Notify the credit bureaus of suspected fraudulent activity.
