WWE Smackdown & AEW Dynamite Dual Thread: WWE Hell in a Cell Go Home Edition

The main event for the Hell in a Cell PPV comes 2 nights early as the Reigns/Mysterio match gets bumped from the PPV card... but we'll get to that in the previews portion of the thread.
Needless to say... USA Network/NBC Universal is not all that happy to see this Hell in a Cell match on Fox tonight and not on Peacock on Sunday.
Congrats to Jon Moxley & Renee Paquette on the birth of their baby girl earlier this week. She'll be wrapping a kendo stick around Charlotte Flair's head in no time.
AEW has started teasing something to do with a championship belt... so either they're adding replica titles to the shop or the new AEW Trios Championship is (finally) about to be unveiled after a year-plus of waiting.
AEW is also looking to kick down the forbidden door of the NYC market... booking the Sept. 22 episode of AEW Dynamite at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, NY... you know... the place where the US Open Tennis Tournament is held every year.
AEW is really going in big for its video games... putting a reported 10-figure investment into game development that puts AEW as a company overall in the red for now.
WWE Friday Night Smackdown tonight is the go home show for this Sunday's Hell in a Cell PPV and comes from the WWE Thunderdome inside of the Yuengling Center on the campus of the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla.
As noted above... the assumed main event or leadoff match for this Sunday's PPV is now tonight instead as Roman Reigns & Rey Mysterio, Jr. battle it out for the Universal Championship inside the Hell in a Cell. What is the reason for this being tonight? Setting up some kind of even bigger match for Sunday? I guess we'll see.
We have our official King Fight tonight as the Battle for the Crown takes place between the reigning King of the Ring Baron Corbin and the King of Strong Style Shinsuke Nakamura with the winner taking sole possession of Corbin's King of the Ring crown.
Apollo Crews wasn't happy that Sami Zayn lost his tag match for him last week... so tonight Crews teams with his Commander Azeez against the 2 men who really want to be IC Champ, Big E & Kevin Owens
Chad Gable and the Alpha Academy has somehow flipped the angry switch to on for Otis Dozovic... and now Otis goes into battle tonight against Angelo Dawkins of the Street Profits

It's 1 of the nights AEW I'm sure is ready to get finished with as this is the final night Dynamite follows Smackdown and draws less than 500,000 viewers thanks to the NBA playoffs. Of course... next week's show is at 7 PM CDT on Saturday night and the week after that is the return to touring for AEW as well as Dynamite's return to Wednesday nights and regularity.
AEW Dynamite tonight comes from Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Fla.
Good Ole JR better brush up on his high school Spanish lessons as he does a sit down interview with the newest AEW star Andrade El Idolo.
AEW goes UFC as Jake Hager & Wardlow potentially settle their feud inside the octagon in a MMA rules fight.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend... and that's why Penta El Zero Miedo, Eddie Kingston, & Frankie Kazarian team up tonight against IMPACT Wrestling's The Good Brothers & Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks.
Perhaps 1 of the biggest eye openers of Dark & Elevation has been how over The Wingmen - the group of "Pretty" Peter Avalon, "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth, Cezar Bononi, & JD Drake - have gotten. Tonight, Bononi takes on Orange Cassidy and I'm here for seeing Statlander punk out Avalon.
The son of The Enforcer makes his AEW on air debut as Arn Anderson's boy Brock Anderson teams with Cody Rhodes against QT Marshall & Aaron Solow
Darby Allin continues to be a masochist... agreeing to take on Scorpio Sky & "All Ego" Ethan Page in a handicap match... which will happen tonight as well.
Be happy for the new mom guys or Jon Moxley will take time out of his 1st Father's Day to drop you on your head

The 2nd season until the Bella splinter of that show was good. 1st season sucked. I wonder how long AFW and their wokeness will give Cody and Jon off on paternity leave.
I don't understand the move to tonight for the HIAC match unless it's been pushed by FOX. Not sure if I'll watch it live... enjoying looking at some fine track and field arse on NBCSN.

It sounds like either fox or wwe panicked and put the hell in the cell on tonight instead of Sunday. Makes no sense to me.

Weren't there two other cell matches on Sunday? I don't ever remember the HIAC PPV having more than two cell matches. I'm wondering if WWE thought there were too many cell matches at the HIAC PPV.

only actual Hell in a Cell match I currently see is Lashley/McIntyre now that Reigns/Mysterio is off of the card

Another reason its hard to take AEW seriously... Darby Allin is like 150 pounds, he does not look like a professional wrestler at all or someone who can kick someone's arse, yet he is going to be booked to win a 2 o 1 handicap match.
At least make the product somewhat believable. I know we all know its scripted, but for crying out loud AEW believes that workrate champions who can do the most flips equate to the best wrestlers. When in a shoot fight Darby Allin would be snapped like a twig.
