As more information comes out... it seems like CM Punk went to the press conference looking to make controversial statements which spurred the fight that led to everything.

Whatever Punk's motives... he likely knew he was going to be gone a while anyway. He reportedly tore his right tricep doing a dive during the All Out match with Jon Moxley which will require surgery and put him on the shelf for an estimated 6-9 months... meaning yet another CM Punk AEW World Championship reign was going to either need to be carried by an interim champion like Moxley did Punk's 1st title reign or just relinquish the title entirely literally days after he got the belt.

Dark Order's Alex Reynolds suffered a foot injury and is currently out of action for an unknown amount of time... which is why Dark Order wasn't in the AEW World Trios Championship match on Wednesday night.

WWE keeps going back to the San Antonio well for Royal Rumble. Royal Rumble 2023 will be at the Alamodome on Saturday, January 28th.
