WWE Friday Night Smackdown: Raise a Glass to Jeff Hardy Edition

WWE has a major issue with 1 of the NXT trainees who was in the crowd for this Wednesday's NXT Great American Bash tapings... who put on social media perhaps a major spoiler for the episode to social media. Others were quick to jump in and try to say it wasn't a spoiler and that WWE taped more than one ending so the spoiler may not be what actually makes air on Wednesday night.

***DO NOT READ THIS COMING SENTENCE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE POTENTIALLY SPOILED FOR WEDNESDAY'S SHOW.*** If the spoiler is in fact the ending used on TV... it makes one wonder what will come of a certain faction that has dominated NXT over the last 2 years or so and whether said faction will soon be called up to the main roster since it has done everything possible and then some in NXT. ***POTENTIAL SPOILER OVER***

The other major other news story is that WWE has apparently completed the purchase of EVOLVE to become its new developmental brand after making NXT the company's "3rd main brand". Of course, EVOLVE was the company WWE used for its first attempt to counter-program an AEW PPV by airing an EVOLVE show live on the WWE Network, a show main evented by then-EVOLVE Champion and current Seth Rollins disciple, Austin Theory

And a tiny bit of AEW kayfabe news... Jake Hager has been suspended. But not for illegal touching of the boobies or butt like many others in the wrestling industry have over the last few weeks... but rather a 10-day suspension for assaulting the referee following his loss to Cody this past Wednesday night (which also came with a "fine of undisclosed amount"... the Monopoly money amount of which will probably go to BLM). All this suspension does is guarantee that Hager isn't at ringside for the Fyter Fest night 2 main event match of Chris Jericho vs. Orange Cassidy this Wednesday night.

Sheamus will have raise a glass of a little bit of the bubbly to celebrate Jeff Hardy's valiant but losing effort against Sheamus back at Backlash

Maggle did some impressive work to convince Smackdown's new top star to give him an exclusive in-ring interview... and that star is the King of Bros Matt Riddle
