It is a make believe "major" so that future tokens can get a "college degree" with zero critical thinking involved.

Gender Studies is a wonderful degree. For going into student loan debt of only 100-140K, you get a great degree with job placement and training to be a world class barista at Starbucks which puts you on a stable financial path to get out of debt in only 25-30 years, provided you keep your roommate in your one bedroom efficiency, and don’t blow your vast post graduate fortune you make at Starbucks on tattoos and piercings.
