No. We have idiots making the wrong choice. Time to disable cells in cars for the addicted texters.

We are a few years away from autobraking features being mandated in cars. Until automated driving becomes the norm, active collision avoidance systems are the only real solution. Between distracted driving and DUI's, it's time to take the human out of the equation.

If there was a wreck on the Causeway, cops moved cars to the crossover asap, or if injury, shut down one lane only put cones about a mile back to let drivers know.
Get the wreck off the road, then investigate.
ONly time Causeway slowed down was when fog shrouded the bridge & it's one cop each lane at 35 mph leading. At least traffic moved. Slowly but it moved.
Maybe its just me but why can't BR get its traffic shite together! ?

So you can stare at waze and google maps while driving?

I don't stare at them while driving, I listen for the directions. Are you suggesting we don't allow GPS Navigation in cars at all anymore?

I would support making drivers who get into a wreck on the freeway fiscally responsible for the traffic jam, in addition to whatever caused the wreck. A fine equivalent to 1 gallon of gasoline for every car in the traffic jam. Maximum $1000 for individuals and $10,000 for commercial vehicles.
