Interesting. They must be pushing this more often recently. We also received a call in the last few weeks.

It is redundant and suspicious on its face--you pay for insurance to go see doctors, not for insurance to come see you. Pencil-pushers and door-knockers.

Them getting federal money to do this is the only profit motive that makes sense. Otherwise it seems more likely that they would be looking to see if you truly do have the conditions that doctors have diagnosed, or to the degree / severity that requires treatment covered by the insurance.

I've been told that if insurance determines that you have dementia, they will no longer cover you--as you are then considered a terminal case.

Aside from that, the less people you bring into your house who can make trouble for you with the state, the better. Along the lines of the Reagan quote, the nine most terrifying words in the English language--'We're from the government, and we're here to help.'

They all think they know what's better for you and your family members than you do.
